The future horror is growing, it grows slowly, in fits & starts, mostly it is imperceptible unless you know what you're looking at, PJW is great at fitting some of the jigsaw together, but I can tell you now, that Orwell was right, his novel warning about the future dystopia, to come, if this warning wasn't heeded? ..Well, the predicted control of people, to death even, by the state, is arriving. Like the Kierkegardian revolution that it is, it changes things, like the historical names of Buildings & Streets, Statuary, Paintings, the names of Galleries, Malls & Arcades etc..
In this revolution, Everything changes, while 'everything' looks the same & it grows in seemingly unconnected things, moments, movements, petitions, demands, actions, denials.. The politics is messy, tho as long as people can keep voting the bastards out, then it will continue to do its roller-coaster thing. BUT;
We cannot afford to ignore attacks on our shared culture in the west, or we lose EVERYTHING.
Saturday, late afternoon, the remanants of a cup of coffee have gone cold, the fire is warm, making the room seem cosier than it would otherwise be. The rain is intermittent, but a downpour is sure to come. Got a stinker of a cold, so informed Deacon that unfortunately, I won't be attending service tomorrow.
Going to have a nice hot meal, of roast beef, potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic & herbs, with a side of steamed savoy cabbage, done over the pan of pot's.
I think a hot bath and early bed, are definitely on the cards for tonight, I'll read until I can't, then I'll put out the light & go to sleep. I've got cocoa, so a big mug of steaming hot cocoa beteween exiting the bath & going to bed, will be a nice way to end the evening.
