I get tired, like some others do, of the RR mainstream, it's becoming like a republican facebook, sure it's cool to have everyday life on the stream, but what about the reason the thing was started in the first place?
To say all the things that other sites wouldn't let us say & I have to iterate, there are a number on RR who do that, but increasingly, & that's the potential pejorative here, increasingly, content is lapsing into the utterly banal & mundane. For instance, I love dogs, but someone posting a pic of their dog's expression, each day, on a site dedicated, originally, to the freedom of, essentially, political speech, seems to be reducing the impetus somewhat.
Maybe that's typical British understatement, indeed it is, but that just goes to show how dire the situation is becoming.
What's the point in a free speech social media site, if it just degenerates into the establishment friendly trivialities of daily life?
I'm not arguing for a purely political site either, but a hybrid creature of social & political clout, strength, wisdom & purpose.
I'm arguing for a greater proportion of 'meaningful' dialogue, over one that seems to want more & more distraction, via pets, home-cooking, houses & property, vehicles, & abstracted problems kept as far away as possaible from the real meat of why things are the way they are.
If we can't focus on the problems, we haven't a chance in hell of solving a single one of them.. What say you?
I recently experienced difficulties making payments to Rubin Report, so they've locked me out of my supporter status, I used the "contact us" to send them messages about this, hoping they'd sort it out for me while awaiting payment. I've been with RR since 2020, so I assumed they'd sort it out, they have not responded & although payment has now been made, my status has not changed back, to say I'm disappointed is a huge understatement.
